About Us
Tree Tops has been established in Gloucestershire since 1989. As a parent you are your child's first teacher and the most important person in his or her life.
It is our aim at Tree Tops to extend this by providing a homelike, nurturing environment where parents and children can feel secure and happy and where all can work together for the benefit of the child. We do this by offering a bright, safe, interesting, learning environment. We encourage children's curiosity, creativity, confidence, independence, discovery, co-operation, language and concept formation.
This education is different from the formalised learning of school. The education we provide stems from our one-on-one knowledge of children's needs, strengths and interests and allows children to develop as individuals at their own rate.
Children under five are bursting with potential and our fully qualified staff are dedicated to ensuring that each child has a carer, a programme of play and tuition tailored to their individual needs. This provides the kind of personal attention which enables your child to learn, laugh and play - and you will feel secure in the knowledge that they are in safe hands.
The curriculum is broad, it includes collage, water & sand play, drama, music and dancing. Pre-reading, simple mathematics and handwriting are introduced at the appropriate age for each child with their graduation to our pre-school classes.

We offer full and part time places. Both our nurseries are Offsted registered and are inspected under the Children's Act and receive visits to ensure our practices and procedures are in accordance with National Day Care standards.
Tree Tops offers excellent service is a safe secure environment. Each day is carefully planned to ensure your child receives the best learning opportunity, in a safe, fun and caring environment.
We understand that leaving your child for the first time in nursery is big event and we will do everything possible to ensure a smooth transition for your child by offering settling in sessions.
Parents evenings are held once a year and nursery activities and forthcoming events are communicated via printed newsletters and the website.
The Curriculum
The secure and structured environment provides the opportunity for individual expression and group activities.
Tree Tops follows the Birth-to-Three Framework and the Foundation Stage Education Programme to ensure your child receives the best possible start to their learning in a stimulating and encouraging setting.
Birth-To-Three is a framework which helps to develop babies and toddlers. It is divided in four aspects:
- A Strong Child
- A Skillful Communicator
- A Competent Learner
- A Healthy Child
A detailed curriculum is prepared on a termly basis focusing on each and every pre-school child's particular needs, experiences and areas for development. At all times children are stimulated to develop the early learning goals of The Foundation Stage. The six early learning goals are:
- Personal, Social and Emotional
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Mathematics
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Physical
- Creative
At Tree Tops we offer extra curriculum activities such as Swimming Lessons, Tennis and French.
